The Director of Respiratory Care Services is responsible for the planning; organizing, and directing operations and personnel in Respiratory Care Service Department, in order to provide efficient quality service to all patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participates in the development/planning of programs and overall Respiratory Care Services.
2. Acts as a liaison between Respiratory Care Services personnel and medical personnel.
3. Coordinates in-service education and quality improvement programs.
4. Coordinates, prepares, and participates in all relevant regulatory agency inspections.
5. Ensures compliance by the Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) with approved policy and procedure.
6. Evaluates performance of existing equipment and researches new equipment. Recommends purchase of new equipment and ensures proper supply of all durable and disposable equipment. Introduces and demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and research findings to RCPs.
7. Coordinates educational programs for RCPs, Nursing, and other staff.
8. Coordinates scheduling of staff in conjunction with Respiratory Care Supervisors.
9. Responsible for budget preparation and monitoring.
10. Responsible on a 24-hour basis for emergency situations.

1. Participates on Ministry committees as requested.
2. Maintains profession growth and development.
3. Encourages professional development of department personnel through in-service education and outside educational sources.
4. Maintains established Department/Hospital policies, procedures, directives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards appropriate to this position.
5. Demonstrates an understanding of and models the mission and core values of the Corporation through behavior and attitude.
6. Maintains all department records and assures accuracy of all statistical reports
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
8. Understands, articulates and ensures compliance with any applicable National Quality Forum Patient Safety Practices, as well as, patient or employee safety practices that may be mandated by any regulatory agency.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care program.
Five to seven years as a Respiratory Therapist preferred. Three to five years as either a Team Leader or Supervisor required.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Possession of current BCLS recognition (ACLS preferred) and current Illinois licenseEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
