We are a large, regional Construction company searching for a Staff Accountant. This position is responsible for construction/contract accounting, working closely with Subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that all monies owed and paid are accurate.
Responsibilities
o Process all Sub-Contract payment applications accurately and thoroughly.
o Verify details on sub-contracts, such as funds received, disbursed and retained, including collection of all lien waivers.
o Audit payment applications against contracts, research discrepancies, and approve for payment.
o Investigate, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Collect and research data.
o Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and review for accuracy.
o Monitor accounts payable and/or receivable to ensure that payments are up to date.
o Reconcile report discrepancies and problems.
o Review, balance, and interpret computer reports, and make corrections.
o Assist employees and vendors by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services. Respond to requests for service and assistance.
o Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
o Maintain excellent client service
Requirements
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
o 3-5 years accounting experience preferred
o Advanced MS Excel skills a strong plus as well as experience with general accounting software
o Excellent organizational and analytical skills required
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
