Summary:
The Packaging Design Engineer will be responsible for designing machines from concept to production. The Packaging Design Engineer will design machines for high speed automated packaging applications, including initiating concept designs based on customer feedback, communicating those designs to other team members, developing those designs utilizing SolidWorks, and managing those designs to completion.
Responsibilities:Design of high speed automated packaging machinery
Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery
Generate 3D SolidWorks complex assembly models, part models, and detail drawings
Develop detailed drawings of parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for machines
Generate parts list of manufactured and purchased parts
Lead projects from concept to customer acceptance
Manage multiple projects at one time
Assist with developing operating manuals and assemble pertinent machine documentation when shipping a machine
Troubleshoot machines and supports checkout and FAT
Assist Sales team quote customer projects
Initiate the purchase and or the manufacture of parts via the tracking program
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
5 years of experience in project engineering
Experience designing automated electro-mechanical machinery
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), safety requirements, and quality control standards
Experience with packaging equipment functionality and design
