Operations Supervisor - Des Plaines/O'Hare Facility

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our team at our Des Plaines, Illinois/Chicago O'Hare Airport terminal. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to maintain operational effectiveness by ensuring proper handling, documentation, containerization, and utilization of carriers and vendors associated with services requested. Must promote and motivate peak performance from assigned personnel while maintaining complete control of operational activities. Position requires computer savvy skills, and ability to keep up with the fast paced logistics environment.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
This role is 80% Dispatch and 20% Operational/Administrative
Provide routing, dispatch, booking and alerting of shipments.
Assist in maintaining and supervising the facility, equipment, and some associated personnel during shift.
Responsible for ensuring all outbound shipments are routed and handled properly.
Responsible for providing accurate computer generated and written reports.
Must review inbound flow sheets and dispatch orders as required using cost effective methods.
Must review, input and update the Hassett computer system accurately with all pertinent data.
Coordinate, arrange, and book shipments for Ground and/or Air Transportation.
Prepare Bill of Ladings accurately.
Utilize the most cost effective way to provide service.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Oversee that cargo is properly containerized and transported.
Demonstrate problem-solving techniques
Work with various internal departments and terminals.
Assist in the handling of additional work assignments or projects.
Comply with the Transportation Security Administration regulations.
Answer phones as needed
Provide work instruction to personnel.
Prepare shipping manifest and load plans.
Ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency in the work performed
Can take directives and demonstrate good listening skills
Complete assigned duties in required timeframes
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred

years of Dispatch experience, preferably in a high volume logistics terminal
5
years of demonstrated Supervisory experience within the Transportation industry, leading all levels of team members
Knowledge of the Internet, email, and Microsoft Office.
Good math and analytical skills
Ability to quickly learn multiple web-based systems and software is required
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must be detailed oriented while multitasking.
Use good judgment in making decision.
Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 3:00PM; must be available for overtime on short notice depending on customers' needs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
